Lead singer of Warrant Dies

If you don't know who Warrant are, don't trouble yourself too much about that fact. They were a hair metal band in the 90's that had a couple of hits. You've probably heard some of their songs and not known it, but the news of the day is that the lead singer from the band, Jani Lane, died. He was only 47 years old. I'm neither shocked nor saddened by celebrity deaths nowadays. It has become so customary that it goes beyond cliche that a celebrity dies early. You rarely hear of a celebrity from the past twenty or thirty years that is simply getting older. No, you hear of how they have overdosed or turned to a life of crime and are in the prison system somewhere. Yes, I listened to Warrant in the 90's, but I can't be held accountable for that, I was just a kid. If you know the band; love, like, or loathe, the singer has passed on and many of the rockers and celebs from that era are chiming in on what a loss it is for someone this young to die, but isn't that what rock n roll is all about, live life to its fullest and don't worry about the consequences? That's what it was about in the 80's & 90's and that's why a lot of the rockers from my generation are dead from overdose, they partied until their bodies couldn't maintain normal function. I'm not saying this is what happened to Lane because it's still listed as unknown, but it's a safe assumption to think that either drugs or alcohol had a part in this. Even if he died of a heart attack, he's 47, his heart shouldn't be in that bad of shape unless all the drugs and alcohol he abused while he was on top. For those who remember Warrant and their music it's a little saddening and he'll be remembered for singing "Cherry Pie" and "Heaven".
